Professional

Tom Swartout operates a financial services business as a Representative for the Pittsburgh network office of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Tom graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with B.A. degrees in Accounting and Economics. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, directly out of college, in 1993. Tom is a native of Butler, PA, and currently resides in Pine Township with his wife, Deanna, and their four children. He is a former member of the Northwestern Mutual Forum.  He is  member of the  Million Dollar Roundtable(1998, 2000-2008) and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. In his spare time, Tom enjoys golfing and participating in the following community organizations.

 

Community Service

 

National Alliance for Autism Research
Tom is an active member of the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR). The organization hosts various fundraising and volunteer events across the country every year.

 

University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association
The Alumni Association of the University of Pittsburgh, comprised of over 17,000 individuals, is the voice for more than 200,000 alumni worldwide. Acting in an advisory capacity, they create and nurture a mutually beneficial relationship between the University, its alumni, and its current and future students.

 

Team Pittsburgh
Team Pittsburgh designates itself as the fundraising arm of the Athletic Department of the University of Pittsburgh. Tom frequently participates in the various money-raising activities and events provided by Team Pittsburgh.

 

United Way
Tom, through the Pittsburgh network office, also contributes to the United Way. In 2005, the office donated $52,466.
